The seating is comfortable and supportive, with plenty of room for rear seat passengers to relax. There are two options for upholstery on the GMC Hummer EV: Lunar Shadow and Lunar Horizon.

The first is a combination of jet black and taupe colors, while the second features a jet black and light grey color palate. Both include bronze accents and weather-proof flooring.

All of the seats are also heated and ventilated, with the driver’s seat boasting some haptic touch technology to enhance the audio experience and comfort.

Why Does the GMC Hummer EV Only Have 5 Seats?

Another potential reason that this electric vehicle only has 5 seats is that compared to its competitors, GMC is fairly new on the electric vehicle scene, with the Hummer EV being one of their flagship launches moving away from gas and diesel.

More About The Seats

The seats in the Hummer EV are comfortable and spacious. They are obviously powered seats that let you adjust the seat up and down, tilt the front of the seat bottom up or down as well as the back of the seat can be mover forward and back. There is also a third adjustment control that I am not really sure what it does.

The seats are not leather, surprisingly. They are made of a high quality, very pleasant and tough looking cloth. The middle of the seats, bottom as well as the back of the seat have a perforated leather material running down from top of the back seat to the front of the bottom of the seat.

There are 2 options for the interior and the seats, they call it the Lunar Shadow Interior and the Lunar Horizon Interior.

Lunar Shadow Interior

The Lunar Shadow interior is a 2-tone, black and taupe cloth material with bronze accents. The taupe is is like a light beige color which actually goes very well with the bronze accents. The 2-tone is done very well with the lighter color at the top stopping about below the shoulders and the black below going all the way to the floor.

Lunar Horizon Interior

The Lunar Horizon interior is also a 2-tone with the black and a light gray cloth combination and bronze accents. In my opinion, the taupe looks better with the bronze accents but it’s still very well done. Same with the Horizon, the light gray is at the top and goes down to about below the shoulders and then the black goes all the way to the floor.

What Features Does the Hummer EV Have?

The 2022 Hummer EV retails for just over $105,000 and is comparable in stats to the Rivian R1S and Tesla Model X. If you recall the look and feel of the Hummer H2, then you’ve got a good mental picture of the aesthetic of the Hummer EV, although admittedly, the 2022 Hummer EV has a boxier design in keeping with electric vehicle style.

Interior Design Choices

Without a doubt, the Hummer EV’s best feature is its off-road capabilities, boasting some incredible acceleration and a pretty effective range for an electric vehicle at 300 miles, although you can expect the range to be closer to 280 if you purchase the Extreme Off-Road Package.

The Edition 1 offers a three-motor and a 20-module double-stacked battery capable of 830 horsepower and 11,500 pounds of torque, although some estimates place the Hummer EV about 1000 hp.

The Watts to Freedom mode gives the Hummer EV some impressive acceleration, making it capable of hitting 60 miles per hour in under 3 seconds, reportedly.

Offroad Adventuring

These specs allow for some great features that trail riders and off-roaders alike will love, including the Crabwalk and Extract Mode. Crabwalk uses the 4-wheel drive to tilt all four wheels diagonally up to 10 degrees for tight turns.
